Texas Roll-Off Tournament Rules

1. Eligibility: TROT is a USBC sanctioned tournament and an IGBO affiliated event, open to sanctioned bowlers only. Bowlers who are not IGBO members or IGBO league bowlers, will pay a $25 fee to become an IGBO affiliate member.

2. Averages: In this order, bowlers will use the following averages:

(a) Highest USBC book average from 2006-07

(b) if no book, then bowler will use highest USBC 12/31/07 avg of 21 games or more. If you use method (b), you must send in a photocopy of your league standing sheet for every league you are bowling in or your average will be 225.

(c ) if no current, then bowlers will use a 225 entering average

RERATING: If you have a 21-game IGBO tournament average of 15 pins or higher, as shown on IGBO.org website as of Feb 1, 2008, then that average will override the book and current averages in accordance with USBC rule 319E. Tournament director has the right to re-rate or disqualify any bowler who provides a lower average, in accordance to USBC rule 319C. The USBC rule 319D on reporting your previous tournament winnings is waived. The 10-pin rule in accordance with USBC rule 319A, item 2 is also waived. Reporting an incorrect average may result in disqualification, in accordance with USBC rule 319a, item 3.

3. Handicap: 80% of 225. Negative handicap will NOT apply

4. Tournament Format: Men and women will compete together in one division. Three events will include team, doubles, and singles for a total of 9 games. Team and doubles can be any mix of gender.

5. Optional Scratch: Entry fee is due before you throw the first ball of the tournament. The divisions are as follows:

Div A - 149 & below

$25 entry fee

Div B - 150-164

$25 entry fee

Div C - 165-179

$25 entry fee

Div D - 180-194

$30 entry fee

Div E - 195 & above

$35 entry fee

 

Everyone will compete with bowlers in their own average threshold using all 9 games to

calculate the scratch scores. 100% payout will be 1 in 10 bowlers.

6. Scratch Masters: Bowlers can either enter scratch masters at the tournament site or prepay their entry with their tournament entry. Same 5 division breakdowns will be used as optional scratch. Bowlers will use their doubles & singles scratch scores to determine their place in their division. Top 8 bowlers in each division will bowl in a double-elimination bracket finals to determine the winner. All 8 bowlers will cash if there are 16 or more entries. Less than 16 entries in any division will advance 4 to the finals and pay all 4 places. Entry fee for Scratch Masters is as follows.

Div A - 149 & below

$25 entry fee

Div B - 150-164

$25 entry fee

Div C - 165-179

$25 entry fee

Div D - 180-194

$30 entry fee

Div E - 195 & above

$35 entry fee

Guaranteed payout in each division is $150 to first place and a Storm Ball of their choice. The other 7 finalists will be paid based on entries received.

7. Entry fee/Prize Fund: Entries are limited to 60 teams. Entries must be postmarked by Thursday Feb 1, 2008. Prize fund will be returned 100%. Payout for each event is 1:8 and all events will be 1:16. Confirmations will be emailed to all bowlers on Monday, Feb 5th. Mail completed entry form and payments to:

8. Late bowlers & Subs: Late bowlers will receive (0) pins until they arrive. Subs may be used as long as they are sanctioned, have filled out the tournament entry form and has a verifiable average.

9. Rules not covered here will be governed by USBC and the tournament director.
